Learn not to learn–a way of keeping budgets and deadlines in ERP projects?

This paper takes as its point of departure the conflict between the project as an organisational form for time-limited task execution and the project as an organisational form for triggering knowledge development and learning. The aim of the paper is to explore how knowledge developed in ERP projects can be managed, as well as to identify potential influences on the management of knowledge developed in the project process. Qualitative data has been collected through interviews, document studies, and participant observations. The paper presents evidence that problems of keeping to budgets and timelines in ERP projects can depend on the fact that knowledge developed in the project process is also exploited in the project process. In order to bridge the conflict between the project as a time-limited form for task execution and an organisational form for knowledge development and learning, three tentative strategies for exploiting knowledge developed in the project process are suggested.

The Benefits of IT-Based Supply Chains-Strategic or Operational?

ABSTRACT

Business relationships are being revolutionized by the use of inter-organizational information systems (IOSs) that connect together separate companies' business processes through the application of Information Technology (IT). The physical value chain is now paralleled by the virtual information chain. Detailed case studies from earlier research suggest that there are huge benefits to be gained from concepts such as Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), shared product design databases and shared production scheduling systems. However, there is little empirical evidence of the overall usage and outcomes of IOS implementation. In this survey, IOS benefits are evaluated using marketing derived frameworks. Evidence from 89 United Kingdom (UK)-based organizations, a large proportion of which are trading internationally, suggests that IOSs are becoming pervasive across different business processes and across different types of industry. The analysis reveals that marketing activities are now dominated by the management of the information along the supply chain and that significant benefits can be realized. However, the time-scale for implementing such systems is of the order of 5 to 10 years and there are significant barriers to successful implementation.

本文研究信息技术外包提供商之间的竞争关系，假设信息技术外包提供商竞争性影响因素，在调研基础上获取大量数据，并通过定量模型进行实证研究。研究发现，信息技术外包提供商信息资源应用水平越高，组织管理水平越高，管理效率越高，人才引进投入力度越大，过程控制方面能力越强，品牌知名度越高，则其竞争力越强。

现代信息技术的迅猛发展使计算机和网络技术以前所未有的广度和深度改变着经济管理活动，也对传统审计提出了挑战。从铁路现有审计信息管理系统存在的问题出发，分析铁路审计信息化的现状，提出进一步推进审计信息化建设，加快实现“三个转变”的建议和措施。     

Factors influencing applicant willingness to apply for the advertised job opening: the mediational role of credibility,satisfaction and attraction

The present study examined the effects of the information given in a job advertisement on the potential applicants' willingness to apply for the job opening with the mediating roles of credibility of and satisfaction from the information given in the ad and attraction to the organization. One hundred and fifty-four students were randomly assigned to the three different versions of job advertisement. Additionally, a questionnaire package was given to each participant. The results showed that advertisement type affected the willingness of potential applicants to apply for the job and this relationship was mediated by credibility.

近几年，我国消防行业的信息化建设有了长足的发展，各地都新建或改造了消防通信指挥系统，开发应用了一批消防信息管理软件，建起了许多消防专业网站，开始实施电子政务，消防信息网络初步形成。总体上看，我国消防行业的信息化水平与美国、日本和西欧等发达国家相比，由于起步较晚，加之综合实力、基础研究较弱，我们的差距还很大。本文首先介绍了消防发展的趋势，接着分析了消防部队信息化建设的现状，最后提出了消防部队信息化建设的方向和基本途径。
