Population displacement through desertification has affected the socioeconomic and cultural development of Jordan's Badia desert. To counterbalance this change, it is important to preserve and revitalise cultural heritage as a source of tourism development in the desert. One possible way of revitalising the Badia regions is to highlight their cultural resources for tourism. The goal of the study is to find alternative tourism resources based on understanding the potential tourism resources in the Badia and to attract tourists for cultural heritage experiences. The analysis suggests new opportunities for cultural heritage tourism with elements of Bedouin material and non-material culture. Solutions include establishing community-based Bedouin tourism that involves the local people in partnership with the BRDC,1 expanding the tourism network to include the Badia region using resources such as folkways and archaeology to enrich the experience, building a rest house; and erecting a Bedouin heritage village. This will generate income and give Badia indigenous communities additional revenue, thereby positively impacting the regional and national economy. 相似文献

ABSTRACTThis study employs an interpretive historical analysis of the themes presented in the leaflets produced by South and North Korea during the Korean War. The themes are analysed into four categories: appeals of ideology, personal gratification, communal values, and information dissemination. The most prominent themes of the ideology appeal are those of toadyism, social system criticism, and attacks on the leader of the opponents. Of the personal gratification appeal, themes include persuading opponents to surrender for personal safety, health, and to gain a sense of belonging. Communal value appeal emphasized the Korea's unique characteristics of one blood, one nation, and one ethnicity mentality to promote the authenticity of each side. Information dissemination contained warnings of bomb attacks, claims of superiority in firepower, and assertions intended to disguise the real situation of the war. 相似文献

ABSTRACTIn this study, the author analyzed the awareness of the people regarding green products. Green products are available from the retail market. A questionnaire survey was conducted of people in three different places in Kolkata, India. The questionnaire contained “yes/no” answers, and a ranking of the questions were modified for the different venues. Ranking was done by using the coefficient of variation method. Because of the variation in the answers, the central tendency of the feedback changed the questions. The survey was administered to 315 people from each area. After statistical quantification of the feedback from the survey questionnaire, using Spearman's correlation coefficient, the variability was tested, to identify the true comments of the people. It was found that the North Kolkata people from the Shyambazar area are most aware of green products. 相似文献

The aim of this paper is to examine the European Foundation for Quality Management self-assessment process in order to analyse the similarities and differences between two of the most common self-assessment approaches (questionnaire and workshop). Using a case study methodology, it examines whether the process, the success of this exercise, the difficulties, the benefits and the success factors are the same in these approaches, or whether they are conditioned by the approach chosen. The results show the difficulties, benefits and success factors in workshop and questionnaire approaches and the significant differences between the two approaches. This study is relevant to managers who are faced with making a decision on which approach to self-assessment should be chosen. Managers must select an approach to self-assessment, considering the characteristics and the quality management maturity of the organisation; the level of quality management understanding and the objectives and degree of decentralisation of the self-assessment. Managers should not forget the importance of their commitment in order to promote the process, the need to train team members in order to facilitate self-assessment and the follow-up as a tool to assess the effectiveness of the process. 相似文献

以2017—2020年证券分析师研报为依据,将分析师估值模型选择偏好与分析师目标价结合探讨,并率先提出目标价投资参考价值这一全新概念且对其评估方法进行设计。研究发现,分析师存在特定的估值模型类型偏好,并且在不同行业中偏好不同的估值模型。然而,分析师偏好的估值模型不一定能够生成质量良好的目标价。对于不同特征的企业,分析师存在迥然各异的估值模型选择偏好,该偏好对目标价具有显著影响。结论可帮助分析师优化估值模型选择,提高目标价质量。 相似文献

We study appropriation strategies in common pool resources where extinction is a credible threat. Here we present an experimental
study of the appropriation of common pool resources in a dynamic setting where resource availability depends on the initial
environmental characteristics of the common resource and on human-induced resource depletion due to users’ appropriation patterns.
Our results show that initial resource scarcity limits appropriation by inducing an initial caution among users that persists
throughout of the game. Additionally, we find that subjects restrain their appropriation strategies when scarcity increases.
However, this concern for resource scarcity is not enough to prevent resource depletion. Agents do not counteract the previous
rounds’ appropriation strategies but follow the appropriation trend. High appropriation levels are followed by higher appropriation
strategies, thus promoting the well known tragedy of the commons. Often concern for resource preservation is not great enough
to limit appropriation.

Taking stock: A comparative analysis of payments for environmental services programs in developed and developing countries 总被引:14,自引:0,他引:14
Payments for environmental services (PES) are an innovative approach to conservation that has been applied increasingly often in both developed and developing countries. To date, however, few efforts have been made to systematically compare PES experiences. Drawing on the wealth of case studies in this Special Issue, we synthesize the information presented, according to case characteristics with respect to design, costs, environmental effectiveness, and other outcomes. PES programs often differ substantially one from the other. Some of the differences reflect adaptation of the basic concept to very different ecological, socioeconomic, or institutional conditions; others reflect poor design, due either to mistakes or to the need to accommodate political pressures. We find significant differences between user-financed PES programs, in which funding comes from the users of the ES being provided, and government-financed programs, in which funding comes from a third party. The user-financed programs in our sample were better targeted, more closely tailored to local conditions and needs, had better monitoring and a greater willingness to enforce conditionality, and had far fewer confounding side objectives than government-financed programs. We finish by outlining some perspectives on how both user- and government-financed PES programs could be made more effective and cost-efficient. 相似文献

都市区已成为中国城市化快速发展的重要载体,但其地域空间范围划分标准尚不明晰,从而影响到空间规划的科学性和空间管治的可操作性。在对国内外都市区定义及划分方法的简要评述基础上,考虑到我国都市区发展所处的阶段,提出产业经济空间和人口经济空间两种划分方法。研究认为由于城市产业经济活动的多样性及其产业活动影响范围的差异性会导致产业经济空间的划分方法难以具体实施,推荐以核心城市人口经济活动的空间范围来划分都市区。在此讨论基础上,对全国尺度上的大都市区空间范围进行了大致匡算和划分,目前全国共有30个大都市区;并以北京市作为案例点,利用GIS技术,考虑道路交通系统,更为具体详细地对北京市都市区范围进行了界定,都市区地域空间形态表现为明显的锯齿状。 相似文献
