Milk Consumption Behavior of Adults

Milk consumption behavior of adults between the ages of 25-49 were investigated using a telephone survey. It was found that the bulk of milk was drunk by a relatively small portion of the respondents and consumption decreased with increasing age. Plain milk was consumed at home principally in the evening and almost always cold. Attitudes towards plain and flavored milk consumption are reported.

在对硫铁矿烧渣全铁含量以及组分研究的基础上,运用湿法工艺以硫铁矿烧渣为原料制备铁红,省去专用还原剂还原的步骤,研究了高温硫酸还原的最佳条件,试验确定制备铁红的简易工艺,节省了试剂与能源。采取该工艺制取的铁红纯度为92%～94%。

Assessing the economics of auto recycling activities in relation to European Union Directive on end of life vehicles

Technical requirements for car design and minimum reuse and recovery rates for end-of-life vehicles (ELV) are the subject of a new EU Directive on ELV. This Directive is expected to induce changes in the infrastructures required for ELV processing, and presents a challenge to maintain such economically viable infrastructure.Technical-cost models of ELV processing operators were developed to interpret the changing economics of auto recycling activities under the new EU Directive on ELV.The results obtained show that the recycling targets defined in the EU Directive for 2006, require the removal of an increased number of plastic parts from an ELV. In particular, removing up to 14% of the ELV mass results in a recycling rate over 80%, even for vehicles with a ferrous content up to about 65%. These operations can be performed economically by dismantlers, provided that they may get a steady flow of ELV hulks, free of charge, and that the international quotation for steel scrap does not come significantly below 120 €/ton.In the long term, developing separation technologies for automotive shredder residues and finding recycling possibilities for the products gained from the separation, might be a valuable scenario to meet the 2015 recycling quotas.     

Protectionism indices for non-tariff measures: An application to maximum residue levels

We propose aggregation indices of Non-Tariff Measures (NTMs) to quantify their protectionism relative to international standards of stringency. We apply the indices to national Maximum Residue Limit (MRL) regulations on pesticides and veterinary drugs affecting agricultural and food trade and using a science-based criteria embodied in Codex Alimentarius international standards. The approach links two streams of the NTM literature, one concerned with the aggregation of various NTMs into operational indices for econometric and modeling purposes, and the other attempting to evaluate the protectionism of NTMs. The data used in the application come from a large international dataset on veterinary and pesticide MRLs and CODEX MRL standards for a large set of countries.     

中日茶叶农药残留标准的贸易效应实证分析

为研究日本技术性贸易壁垒对中国茶叶出口的影响,文章整理汇总了日本和中国1992年以来有关茶叶的农药残留限量标准,据此在计量模型中建立了包含中日标准差异和日本茶叶农残修订严格程度的变量进行实证分析。结果表明,日本日趋严格的农药残留标准与中国对日茶叶出口呈负相关关系,但影响并不显著;技术性贸易壁垒在长期中有利于促进技术进步,进而对中国茶叶出口贸易具有正面效应。
