Chinalco and Rio Tinto, the Second Handshake, Actual and Powerful？

On February 12, a meaningful scene occurred in London： Xiao Yaqing, the General Manager of Chinalco, and Paul Skinner, the Chairman of Rio Tinto took a handshake at the agreement ceremony, which symbolizes the second cooperation between Rio Tinto and Chinalco, after Chinalco＇s first investing in Rio Tinto with US$14 billion last year.     

民办高校内部控制研究

随着我国教育事业的蓬勃发展,民办高校越来越被人们所熟知.如今,民办高校已经走过二十多个年头,在其认可度不断走高的同时,其暴露出来的问题也不在少数,不少民办高校内部管理松弛、监督不力、会计控制薄弱等问题层出不穷,一套科学有效的高校内部会计控制制度的出台迫在眉睫,以规范校内经济秩序,保证民办高校事业健康持续地向前发展.本文结合民办高校的特点,围绕内部控制五要素对民办高校内部控制进行研究,发现民办高校内部控制环境、风险管理、控制活动及信息沟通、内部监督等方面的不足,并从完善民办高校内部环境、风险管理、强化民办高校控制活动、加强民办高校信息与沟通建设、加强民办高校内部监督等方面提出相应建议,旨在加强民办高校的内部控制.     

Organizational Culture,Leadership Behaviors,and Employee Attitude in Chinese SMEs＂ Empirical Evidence

This study examines the impact of organizational culture on leadership behaviors, as well as the influence of leadership behaviors on employee attitude in Chinese small and medium-sized enterprises （SMEs）. Based on previous researches, this study establishes a conceptual model that indicates the two types of influential relationship. Data are collected from 515 subordinates of 23 SMEs in Chengdu of Sichuan province. By using statistical methods, findings of this study are concluded. Directions for future research are also discussed.     

WTO反倾销协议日落复审条款及美国反倾销日落复审国内法之比较研究

依照WTO反倾销日落复审制度，反倾销税在征收5年后应该终止。但事实上我国的出口产品在美国被采取反倾销措施5年后，并没有因此规定而被停止征收反倾销税，这种无限期地实施反倾销措施偏离了世界贸易组织设置反倾销日落复审初衷。文章对WTO反倾销协议中的日落复审条款和美国反倾销日落复审的国内法进行了详细的分析，并指出美国反倾销日落复审的国内法存在违背WTO协议的可能，进而为我国企业提供有针对性的对策。     

Urban economic base as a catalyst for movements in real estate prices

We examine the relation between housing prices in an MSA and its urban economic base. We create and employ new forward-looking employment growth indices that measure the urban economic strength of an MSA and find that it accounts for a significant and sizeable portion of the house price movements in that MSA. We argue that the forward looking measure is an indicator of future agglomeration growth for the MSAs. We further partition the urban economic growth into growth by various industries and track the attribution of their growth to housing prices over time. We find that for some MSAs, home prices are driven by the same set of industries over time, whereas for others, home prices are driven by a totally new set of industries in the later quarters, due to the birth of new industries. We also analyze the impact of the diversification of an urban economic base on home price volatility and observe that diversification decreases home price volatility. The result has larger implications for urban policymakers in selecting the appropriate type of industries relative to their existing mix of industries.

Technology elasticity and potential on energy saving and emission reduction: evidence from China

This article investigates the elasticity of different technology choices to energy efficiency and chemical oxygen demand/ammonia nitrogen emission reducing efficiency among 38 industries in China from 2008 to 2011. With data envelopment analysis, total-factor productivity growth, the common measure of technical progress, is divided into different parts: technical efficiency relative to the frontier, technology change and scale efficiency, which are regarded as three different choices of technological progress. For various industries, technology elasticity is quite different and the importance of different technical choices is diverse in the improvement of efficiency on energy saving and emission reduction. Policymakers could focus on the elasticity of different technical progress choices in various industries to improve energy and emission reduction efficiency.
