湖北与浙江两省利用外国直接投资比较分析

改革开放以来,利用外国直接投资成为各地发展经济的一种重要的方式,它弥补了国内私人和政府投资资金的不足,有效地刺激地方经济增长。作为中部的湖北省,与地处东部的浙江省,在利用外国直接投资(FDI)方面有着显著差距,两省的外国直接投资绩效也不相同,浙江利用FDI的总量规模和增长速度比湖北要高,来源结构更为合理,外商投资企业对出口的贡献更为明显;湖北利用FDI的质量更高,外资对湖北经济增长的贡献更为重要,对产业结构的调整影响更大。     

新中国成立70年浙江省对外贸易发展的历程、特征、启示与展望

新中国成立70年来,浙江省对外贸易伴随着共和国的发展不断成长,从无到有,从小到大,从弱到强,在经济社会发展中的战略地位和作用持续增强。这期间,浙江省对外贸易在进出口商品结构、贸易方式、市场主体、贸易伙伴、业态发展等多个方面,均实现了历史性跨越。课题组以海关统计数据为基础,详细梳理分析了新中国成立以来浙江省对外贸易发展的主要历程以及特征,并结合当前日益严峻复杂的国际形势和经济全球化带来的挑战与机遇,提出进一步深化改革,大力发展实体经济,推动高质量发展、高水平开放的政策建议。     

The effects of beach characteristics and location with respect to hotel prices

This paper measures the effects of beach characteristics and hotel location with respect to the beach on sun-and-beach hotel prices by using a well-established hedonic perspective. The paper’s main results are that, after controlling for the relevant variables, location in front of a beach increases the price of a room in costal hotels of Catalonia by a figure between 13 and 17%, and that a Blue Flag increases the price by around 11.5%. The effects on hotels’ prices of other beach characteristics (such as beach length, width, sand type or beach services) are also estimated. With these estimates, the paper ranks beaches according to their characteristics and provides a setting to assess different policies regarding beaches from the point of view of hotels, such as regeneration, maintenance or achieving a Blue Flag award.     

When quality signals talk: Evidence from the Turin hotel industry

This study analyzes the relationship between quality signals and price setting through the application of hedonic price functions. The model proposals also include variables relating to land use policies and tourism development strategies. A simultaneous equation model endogenously estimates quality signals. This method is appropriate for analyzing emerging urban destinations, as characterized by the presence of an expanding hotel industry. The results are based on a dataset of 145 hotels in Turin, Italy. The empirical findings reveal that reputation-based quality signals help explain tariff levels. Price proposals also include a premium for quality assured hotels, defining some limits of the current hotel classification system. The empirical evidence has significant marketing implications for the hospitality industry’s competitiveness, since the results clarify the impact of quality signals on price level.

加快发展设施农业是新时期新疆推进现代农业建设、促进农业增效、农民增收的一项重大决策,研究解决设施农业发展中存在的问题,对于更好地发挥设施农业的作用具有重大意义。本文分析了新疆发展设施农业的必要性,以及设施农业发展中存在的一些问题,进而提出了推动设施农业又好又快发展的几点措施和建议。     

‘The times they are a changin’? transformative organizational innovations in financial services in the UK

Much of the management guru-based literature emphasizes the transformational capacity of organizational innovations (OIs). The excellence, quality and reengineering literature purports to abandon hierarchy, bureaucracy and management control; to eradicate conflict and instil an new team and quality-based ethos. Yet much remains unknown about how these OIs are operationalized. Here we question both theoretically and empirically the validity of such transformational claims by reference to our research within financial services. We argue that despite considerable changes, OIs remain both a condition of, and location for, the exercise of organizational power relations. Bureaucratic and hierarchical structures continue to pervade organizations. Work-related pressures and tensions abound concerning issues such as control over the quality versus the quantity of work output, work intensification and job insecurity. All of which impinge upon the performance of OIs, and belie notions of a ‘transformation’ of organizational cultures, structures or strategies.     

Is participation in agri-environmental programs affected by liquidity and solvency?

Financial constraints, both in the short and long run, have an impact on economic well-being of farm families. Additionally, financial constraints have an impact on production efficiency and technology adoption. This study investigates factors affecting farmers’ participation in the agri-environmental programs like Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) and the Environmental Quality Incentives Programs (EQIPs) in the U.S. particular attention is given to the roles of liquidity and solvency on participation in CRP and EQIP. Results show that both liquidity and solvency have a negative impact on participation in such programs. Additionally, we found that access to the Internet plays an important role in the farmer's decision to participate in CRP and EQIP. Our results also suggested that beginning farmers are more likely to participate in EQIP program.     

Self-targeted food subsidies and voice: Evidence from the Philippines

This paper studies the targeting outcomes of a self-targeted rice subsidy program in the Philippines. We find modest within-community targeting outcomes, but weak between-community targeting. This appears to be because, controlling for the direct influence of household characteristics, participation was lower in poorer communities. These inter-community differentials are strongly correlated with several proxies for citizen “voice”, including education, income, and access to other public services. This suggests that self-targeting outcomes are not simply a function of the good selected for subsidy, but are also influenced by variations in communities’ access to usable services; that these variations favor richer communities; and that efforts to enhance consumer voice in disenfranchised communities would facilitate targeting improvements.

以项目质量成本管理理论为依据，结合A电厂工程项目施工的质量成本管理现状，分析了A电厂工程项目在现场安装质量成本管理过程存在的问题，提出了电力建设质量成本管理的理念，总结提出了具体且可操作的质量成本管理对策以及相关问题的运作思路，以此为基础提出电力建设质量成本管理的途径和方法。同时，为其他电力企业加强质量成本管理提供借鉴。
