The study examines employee, managerial, and ethics officer perceptions regarding their companies codes of ethics. The study moves beyond examining the mere existence of a code of ethics to consider the role that code content and code process (i.e. creation, implementation, and administration) might play with respect to the effectiveness of codes in influencing behavior. Fifty-seven in-depth, semi-structured interviews of employees, managers, and ethics officers were conducted at four large Canadian companies. The factors viewed by respondents to be important with respect to code effectiveness include: provisions of examples; readability; tone; relevance; realism; senior management support; training; reinforcement; living up to standards; reporting requirement; anonymous phone line; communicating violations; and enforcement. The factors found to be potentially important include: justification for provisions; employee involvement; and sign-off requirements. Factors found not to be important include: objectives for the code; prior distribution; testing; and relating ones performance review to compliance with the code.  相似文献

In contrast to the Affect Infusion Model, popular advertising planning grids suggest that emotional advertising is effective for low involvement and hedonic products, but not for high involvement or utilitarian products. In two experiments, 400 and 392 consumers respectively evaluate a non-emotional and a product-congruent or product-incongruent emotional appeal promoting four different product types. In a third study, 909 respondents evaluate 323 existing TV commercials. The findings confirm expectations based on the Affect Infusion Model and indicate that for none of the product types negative effects of emotional advertisements appear. However, emotional ads do work better for some than other product types. In addition to clearing out the moderating role of product type, this paper contributes to the literature by showing that previous poorer results of emotional ads for some products may be partly due to less positive attitudes towards the products themselves instead of to the inappropriateness of the appeal.  相似文献

从机构投资者角度考察内部控制有效性是已有研究很少涉及的一个主题。文章选取2011-2012年沪深主板A股上市公司作为样本,研究了机构投资者对内部控制有效性的影响。实证结果表明,机构投资者整体上对内部控制有效性具有提升作用;对机构投资者分类后发现,“压力抵制型”机构投资者对内部控制有效性的提升作用强于“压力敏感型”机构投资者。进一步的研究还发现,国有控股削弱了机构投资者对内部控制有效性的正面作用。  相似文献

Despite the dithyramb on training found throughout the literature, its impact on organizational performance still remains a ‘black box’ yet to be unlocked. Indeed, neither the intervening process nor the factors that mediate training effectiveness have been substantively explored or linked together in a framework. In this paper, gaining insights from the concept of the balanced scorecard and using the service profit chain as a strategy map, an attempt is made to formulate a casual linkage value chain that highlights one possible route through which training can impact organizational performance. Using a predictive design, data were collected from multiple sources (employees, customers, and the bank's financial records) and raters from a sample of 30 branches of a Greek bank. The findings confirmed a framework illuminating a value exchange process ignited by training. More precisely, the results suggested that a formal, structured, and long-term approach to training, as well as certain pre- and post-training conditions and activities, improve training effectiveness by creating positive perceptions about the training's value. The generated for employees value results to higher levels of job satisfaction which boosts employee loyalty, creating in this sense value for the organization. This value is reflected to customers, in terms of better service quality, and reciprocated to the organization through higher customer satisfaction and branch loyalty leading to improved profitability at the branch level.  相似文献

In a survey among respondents from 96 organizations, we found that the utility of training partially mediated the relationship between Training Needs Assessment (TNA) comprehensiveness and the effectiveness of the organization. We did not find an effect of training quantity on training utility and organization effectiveness. Both TNA comprehensiveness and training quantity were found to be unrelated to organizational size. The results support the importance of conducting TNA in practice.  相似文献

2013年新年第一个月,中国多达17个省市被雾霾笼罩,空气质量极度恶劣,国人调侃要“厚德载雾,自强不吸”,我国的环境质量受到了全世界的关注与质疑;空气质量恶化的原因众说纷纭,归纳起来主要是以下三点:工业废气污染、建筑灰尘污染、汽车尾气污染,三者的贡献各占三分之一;通过对物品的分理、集同、包装、信息管理,以城市公共交通系统(包括城市公交、BRT、地铁、轻轨等)为主要运输方式,非公共汽车、自行车等为辅助运输方式,在最短的时间(不超过5小时)实现物品在同一个城市区域范围内位置有效转移的物流活动,从而提高物流效率从而降低汽车尾气对空气的污染。  相似文献
