影响中国商业银行盈利性的因素有:管理层的风险偏好,银行的资产规模,银行的经营管理效率,银行所面临的信用风险,银行的交易规模,持有现金及准备金的机会成本。其中,管理层的风险偏好、交易规模、持有现金及准备金的机会成本与盈利能力呈正相关,银行的资产规模、经营管理效率、所面临的信用风险与盈利能力呈负相关。中国的商业银行在未来的发展中要完善银行内部治理结构,提高经营管理效率,加强创新能力,提高抵御风险的能力。  相似文献

当前,我国商业银行补充资本金的一个常用手段是发行次级债,但我国商业银行次级债市场存在发行目的单一、互持问题严重、市场约束失效的问题。提高商业银行的经营管理水平,改善银行负债结构以及改善银行风险管理,拓宽商业银行次级债市场参与主体,让商业银行以外的机构投资者更多地参与次级债市场以分散银行体系的风险,这样才能达到通过发行次级债补充资本金以提高银行抗风险能力的目的。  相似文献

国有商业银行因其信贷资产占盈利资产为绝对比重,所以,毋庸置疑,其信贷资产质量必须成为衡量其经营管理水准和对外资信度的重要标志,也是决定其生存与发展的核心问题。当贷款人确无货币清偿能力时,抵贷资产作为现代商业银行有效保全金融资产的唯一选择。其质量的高低将直接关系着商业银行转化和抵御信贷风险,维护和保障银行债权的能力。最近,笔者发现,基层行在实际经营过程中,逐渐暴露出抵贷资产入帐不实、管理滞后、违规经营和流损等问题,制约着银行转化不良信贷资产和提高盈利水平。因此,完善抵贷资产管理机制,创新抵贷资产风险管理模式,整合抵贷资产的经营管理理念,已成为国有商业银行防范和化解资产经营风险,改善和提高信贷资产质量,提升和增强经营效益的当务之急。  相似文献

本文对中国建设银行培育村镇银行的研究表明,其村镇银行的市场定位高端化,机构分布偏向东部地区,信贷业务增长较快,但存贷比偏高,培育村镇银行的速度加快,不良贷款保持为零,但盈利能力不强。本文总结出影响大型国有商业银行培育村镇银行绩效的因素包括:融资渠道狭窄,吸收存款困难;政策扶持力度不够,相关配套改革滞后;股权高度集中,经营管理水平不高。为改善大型国有商业银行培育村镇银行的绩效,应该拓宽村镇银行的融资渠道,加大政策扶持力度;提高经营管理水平,积极开展微型金融业务。  相似文献

This paper documents the technical efficiency of Chinese banks over 1999–2010. With stochastic frontier analysis, we find that Chinese banks are about 18% more efficient in generating lending assets than profits. We also observe an upward trend of bank efficiency after China's entry to WTO in 2001. The improvement of bank efficiency is most prominent for the largest banks with substantial state ownership. We also find that majority state-owned banks are least efficient; well capitalized banks are less efficient; bank efficiency decreases with bank size at the lower end, but banks gain efficiency and realize economies of scale when bank size grows large enough; more fee-generating business reduces efficiency; better management improves efficiency.  相似文献

新兴金融、互联网金融发展不断倒逼着银行业必须提高效率,而服务能力、信贷环境是银行效率提升的关键因素。本文运用数据包络分析方法和广义相加模型,对特定信贷环境中银行效率与服务能力的关系假设进行检验。实证结果表明,银行的信贷供给和服务配送能力对银行效率的提升具有正面影响,但信贷供给能力对银行效率的提升作用存在上限边界约束,而服务配送能力对银行效率的提升作用则受到下限边界约束;银行效率对信贷环境变化的动态响应呈“S”型变动特征。  相似文献

This paper investigates whether depositors and market investors exert disciplinary pressure on bank management in terms of efficiency improvement. We find that banks with more outstanding deposits are more cost-efficient, although little effect is found with respect to profit efficiency. This implies that depositors, the primary providers of funds to banks, likely play an important role in disciplining bank management, at least in terms of enforcing efficient use of inputs. Market discipline has garnered increasing attention as a mechanism to ensure bank soundness. Our results imply that depositors, the largest creditors to banks, may be of primary importance in this mechanism.  相似文献

Despite the wide acceptance of DCF valuation and its corollary that value is created only by earning more than the cost of capital, very few companies use performance measures that focus on corporate efficiency in using capital—measures such as return on capital (ROC) or economic value added (EVA)—as the main basis for their top management incentive programs. In this article, the authors begin by documenting the surprisingly limited use of such measures in management incentive plans. Next they analyze three often cited problems—difficulty in retaining managers, discouragement of growth investment, and complexity—that could account for the limited use of such measures. Third and last, they suggest a number of adjustments to standard capital efficiency measures that are designed to address these problems and, in so doing, to give corporate directors more confidence in using measures like EVA to reward and hold managers accountable for value-adding performance.
In illustrating the problems encountered when using such performance measures, the article uses case studies of three long-time "EVA companies"—Briggs & Stratton, Herman Miller, and Manitowoc—to highlight the difficulty of using a "bonus bank" (or "clawback") system to hold managers fully accountable for earning a minimum return on capital. After presenting empirical data that shows "delayed productivity" of invested capital, the authors suggest that conventional capital efficiency measures can discourage value-increasing growth.
The article concludes by recommending that although measures like EVA used in combination with negative bonus banks provide the right incentives, EVA capital charges should be phased in gradually to reflect the delayed productivity of capital. At the same time, corporate boards should consider providing bonus bank "relief" when market and industry factors have excessively large negative effects on the performance measures and bonus awards.  相似文献

Operating on unsecured interbank markets exposes banks to various risks which trigger changes in bank strategic outcomes such as risk management and performance. This paper proposes a novel three-stage network data envelopment approach with feedback and alliance to examine the importance of bank risk exposures through interbank funding on bank efficiency levels. Our results show that overall bank performance management is achieved via a complement of good alliance between risk and funding, and financial performance. In addition, high financial or overall performance may not imply better risk management or allied process performance. Rather, banks are inherently performance-driven institutions whose performance objectives are independently optimal but aggregately suboptimal. Further analyses show that, for international banks, high financial or overall performance may not necessarily limit high allied process and risk management. Moreover, risk governance in large banks has not improved despite the increased regulatory pressure induced after the 2007–2008 credit crisis. Our results remain robust regardless of whether the alliance or financial performance stage is given priority in the overall efficiency decomposition, and when the novel resource imbalance index is used to assess and enhance the discriminatory power of performance.  相似文献

Measuring and evaluating the operating efficiency of bank branches requires analytic techniques that provide insights beyond those available from accounting ratio analysis. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), a mathematical programming technique, provides useful insights in locating inefficient branches by explicitly considering the mix of services provided and the resources used to provide these bank services. Bank management finds the DEA results provide meaningful insights not available from other techniques that focus on ways to improve productivity. The results suggests that DEA is a beneficial complement to other techniques for improving bank branch efficiency.  相似文献
