Show Me the Money! The Value of College Graduate Attributes as Expressed by Employers and Perceived by Students

Employers of agricultural undergraduates are presented with hypothetical job candidates with different attributes and salaries, and are asked which candidate, if any, they would hire. The employer choices are then used to estimate the additional salary they will pay for undergraduates with certain attributes. Students are administered similar surveys where they indicate which hypothetical candidate they think will be hired, which can be used to estimate students' perceived salary increase associated with each attribute. Employers' stated values are then compared to students' perceived values to identify any misperceptions regarding the monetary return of select attributes.     

CEO duality and firm performance: A contingency model

Several studies have addressed the CEO duality-performance relationship, with inconsistent results. This paper proposes that these inconsistencies can be resolved by integrating agency and stewardship perspectives on duality. Using data from 192 firms in 12 industries, both the direction and magnitude of the duality-performance relationship was found to vary systematically across Dess and Beard's (1984) environmental dimensions. These results provide partial support for both agency and stewardship perspectives.     

当代大学生上网问题分析及引导策略研究

随着社会的快速发展,网络的社会影响力越来越大。与此同时,网络对大学生的＂双刃剑＂作用也越来越突出。网络方便了大学生的学习和生活,开阔了大学生的视野,但是也让部分大学生因沉迷于网络而荒废学业,甚至有些学生因此患上了严重的心理及生理方面疾病。因此,主要分析,目前大学生上网行为以及如何正确引导、规范网络道德,并希望能起到一定的借鉴作用。     

本科教学中开设《金融经济学》课程的必要性和内容侧重的探讨

《金融经济学》目前已经成为国外金融学专业微观金融课程体系中的重要基础课,国内部分重点大学也已经在研究生教学中开设了这门课程,但多数高校在金融学专业本科教育中仍然缺少这一课程的设置。文章通过对金融经济学的学科地位、研究内容和相关联课程的探讨,提出了在本科阶段开设《金融经济学》课程的必要性,并进而对本科阶段《金融经济学》教学的内容侧重和教学方法提出了相关的建议。     

电气类技术本科大学生职业生涯规划初探

目前电气类技术本科大学生的就业问题也变得越来越严峻,在我校"建设合格本科院校"的大背景下,如何做好此类大学生的职业生涯规划就变得非常现实和迫切;在本文中,笔者将就技术本科教育面临的现状、加强技术本科大学生职业生涯规划的途径和措施等展开谈论。     

A classroom experiment in monetary policy

The authors propose a classroom experiment implementing a simple version of a New Keynesian model suitable for courses in intermediate macroeconomics and money and banking. Students play as either the central bank or members of the private sector. The central banker sets interest rates to meet twin objectives for inflation and the output gap or to meet only an inflation target. In both settings, private sector agents are concerned with correctly forecasting the inflation rate. The authors show that an experiment implementing this setup is feasible and yields results that enhance understanding of the New Keynesian model of monetary policy. They propose alternative versions where the central bank is replaced by a policy rule and provide suggestions for discussing the experimental results with students.     

大学生消费行为调查与分析

大学生是社会消费群体的重要组成部分,他们的消费行为特征受到越来越多人的关注。为了更好地了解大学生的具体消费行为,本文采取问卷调查的方式,以合肥师范学院在校大学生作为调查对象,进一步了解大学生的消费理念、方式以及水平、结构等。最后根据调查结果的数据分析,对大学生理性消费提出具体建议,以引导大学生树立正确的消费观念。     

The Macro Pedagogy Debate: Teaching DSGE to Undergraduates Symposium

Dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) models have become the workhorse of modern macroeconomics and the standard way to communicate ideas among applied macroeconomists. Undergraduate students, however, often remain unaware of their existence. The lack of specialized knowledge can hurt them if they decide to attend graduate school. Indeed, many first-year PhD students discover that the material they are currently learning differs significantly from what they mastered in college. But this can change. In this article, the author describes how to teach a full-fledged macroeconomics course where DSGE models take center stage. He discusses how to arrange such a course within a one-semester time frame, details the main components of instruction, and finishes with some thoughts based on his teaching experience at Macalester College.     

无机非金属材料本科毕业生就业跟踪调查分析

无机非金属材料本科毕业生数量大幅度上升,而企业招聘人数越来越少,日益激烈的竞争压力使得大学生面临越来越严峻的就业形势。而无机本科毕业生的就业形势和已就业学生的发展情况是本文研究的焦点,所以以e-mail邮件、电话调查和走访的方式对洛阳理工学院无机毕业生及其就业单位进行就业跟踪调查。就这次调查研究的基本情况和统计结果进行分析,目的是了解该校的专业教育、就业指导等与毕业生就业和岗位发展的关系,为该校改进教学方法和调整就业指导策略提供决策数据。
